Launch Ceremony for Phase 2 of the SHCC Project

On March 19, 2026, STEP held the launch ceremony for Phase 2 of the SHCC Project (2026–2028) at the Shangri-La Phnom Penh Hotel.

The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dr. Kim Sethany, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Chair of the STEP Steering Committee.

In her remarks, H.E. Dr. Kim Sethany emphasized the importance of collaboration among relevant institutions in promoting the quality of school health and the well-being of children. She noted that school health is essential and crucial for ensuring quality education and achieving educational goals and Cambodia’s national vision.

Phase 2 of the SHCC Project aims to strengthen the professional capacity of school health lecturers at Teacher Education College in Cambodia, while also promoting school health education and activities in primary and lower secondary schools through these institutions.

During the ceremony, STEP signed Memorandam of Understanding (MoU) with the Phnom Penh Teacher Education College and the Battambang Teacher Education College. These MoUs are intended to further strengthen cooperation between the institutions in implementing project activities, sharing knowledge, and supporting the professional development of school health instructors, thereby contributing to positive and sustainable outcomes for Cambodian children through both the project and the partner institutions.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the generous financial support provided by The Nippon Foundation, as well as for the support and participation of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, the Teacher Education Colleges, and all distinguished guests.

Thanks to your valuable contributions, the ceremony was held in a warm and memorable atmosphere that left a lasting impression on all participants.
