From December 25th to 27th, we conducted the 20th School Health Training in Phnom Penh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this training, we invited the Foundation for International Development\/Relief (FIDR) to conduct a session on nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants gained enjoyable, science-based knowledge, including how to read nutrition labels, methods for calculating and determining items not listed on nutrition labels, and an experimental video demonstrating sugar content in juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second day, we visited Srey Santhor High School, a public middle and high school supported by FIDR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We observed a health class for Grade 9 students (equivalent to Japanese 9th graders). Additionally, we conducted mock health education classes for Grade 8 (equivalent to Japanese 2nd-year junior high students) led by instructors from the teacher training college. These included a Reproductive Health class by Mr. Sithou from Battambang Teacher Training College and a Mental Health mock class by Mr. Thora. This time, teachers and administrators from nearby schools also observed the classes. During the instructors’ debriefing, it was noted that for future mock classes, thorough preparation is needed to ensure they serve as exemplary model lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the third day of the training, a report on the September Japan study tour was presented, followed by a lecture on Child Health (one of the subjects in the junior high school curriculum) delivered by a Master Trainer instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
